The Jet 2+2 concept uses the new Rapide S as a donor car and has the same dimensions as the saloon, despite the change in bodystyle to create a steeply raked hatchback.
The interior has been mildly blinged-up too, with more gloss wood and metal trim and two-tone leather upholstery. Folding rear seats add practicality to the bigger boot.
Unchanged is the potent 5.9-litre V12 engine from the outgoing Rapide that produces 470bhp and 442lb ft of torque, propelling the car from 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds.
The concept car has been created by the Italian design house in honour of Aston Martin’s 100-year anniversary and the 60-year partnership between the two firms.
A shooting brake version of the Vanquish was created in 2004, called the Jet 2. The 2+2 has been commissioned by a private collector as a one-off, with the blessing of Aston Martin HQ.
The current Rapide starts from £149,995, but there’s no word on how much this bespoke special will have cost the wealthy collector who requested it.
Aston Martin will launch the Rapide S at the Geneva show. The new car gets a light facelift and produces 550bhp and 457lb ft of torque.
The price has not yet been announced.
